Hugo is disturbed by the feeling that dogs from his neighborhood are following him, not because they want him harm but because they love him too much... I wonder where that comes from?

April 7th, 2015 Time to Move On!
Easter and Passover have come and gone and April is after all the National Poetry Month, so Hugo has been busy since early this morning redecorating the store with posters and displaying poetry books in display cases and tables. A good way to review some favorite poets and putting them on a list for poetry nights.

Another Day off for Hugo. It seems that using ink and colored pencils id the trend for this journal. It might evolves as it goes. The paper is not taking water at best so better safe this way.

April 4th, 2015 Lan Su Chinese Garden as Solace
Lunch at the Lan Su Chinese Garden is what brings some balance to Hugo's life this Saturday. It is like having an internal shower, a cleansing for a stable state of mind.
April 3rd, 2015 Busy, Busy, Busy!
Hugo's business is keeping him occupied and enjoyed a nice evening with his friend Hannah, dinner and a very short movie, that is all what he has time for, but it is all worth it!
April 2nd, 2015 Behave Yourself, Never Mind the Rest
Part of the quote of Beatrix Potter Included in today's blog entry in this title reflect the wonderful state that once had as a child. Our parents were there to oversee everything for us and our part was to behave in return. As an adult if you believe in a higher power you might still have some "protection" from the big bad world around and if you are a good person that is enough to insure a peaceful, contented life. I kind of envy this state of mind. Anyway Hugo has been busy at work and is trying to do his best to be present in this life of his. See for yourself:

The Why
Hugo Foray is a character I invented for myself. Let me explain. Roz Stendahl a wonderful artist, teacher organises each April an event called the International Fake Journal Month where the participants get to take on another personality and keep a journal making an entry per day about what happened in their "fake" life. You can read all about his on this website designated to contain everything and more about it since it all began in Roz's mind or almost. One of her famous motto is:

In a "nut" shell Hugo Foray is the proud owner of a Used Bookstore named you guessed...
"Alter Hugo" which happen to be in Portland in the Pearl district just around the corner from the Chinese Garden. He lives near by in a loft. He loves vintage clothes, the Greek philosophers, tasty food, Gustave Moreau, to doodle when on the phone, Prussian blue color, make small miniature paintings out of stamps. He rides his bike everywhere around town. He collects objects that evoke Wabi Sabi to him, that beautiful object that is imperfect but has such emtional beauty that it goes right to his tripes when he sees one. He has red hair and an untamed beard. He is paranoid about being followed by dogs. He is well liked and always so helpful by telling people some "real" tips on how to live their lives to the fullest. I am sure that you get the idea by now how much fun I am going to have being him for a month. Stay tuned!
